Wayne and Rycy are getting married next month (in July) and wanted some of their engagement portraits done where they met and where Wayne subsequently asked Rycy to marry him. (I’m all about sentimentality, love it!). Well, this was a bit unconventional (which I also like to do) in that Wayne is a professional tennis player and he and Rycy met on the tennis courts at the YMCA in Chesapeake. That’s also where Wayne proposed (hopefully not after whacking Rycy in the noggin with a well hit shot).
So, we started out on the tennis courts at the YMCA in Chesapeake for these engagement portraits.
After we got done at the tennis courts, we went to Locks Park in Great Bridge to see what we could come up with there. I’ve shot a few sessions there and have also shot a full set of wedding formals at that location so I knew where to go. It’s a great place as long as there isn’t too much traffic through the park and people using the boat launches.

I’m looking forward to working more with Wayne and Rycy, the wedding will be great! I hear tell of tennis themed decor so it should be unique and a lot of fun!
